Jon and Betty Hehman of Woodstock, Georgia

The Hehmans are just simple country farm folks living out in the woods with their animals in a tiny homemade cabin with a tin roof. Miss Betty takes the wagon into town usually and helps out at the airplane shop while Jon struggles with the Truth of the Universe and keeps up with the oil changes in the tractor.

Betty said she heard weird noises that night, but she thought maybe it was just the wind. Sure enough, the gnome that lives down at the creek under the bridge had snuck in again, and this time he painted the bathtub. This very odd phenomenon was noticed in the kitchen at the little cabin one morning when Jon was preparing one of his world renowned favorites, commonly known as pancakes by the lower classes. Betty did a quick survey of all known Indian burial sites nearby to see if any activity could be observed. This investigation proved negative, and then they both realized that it was the day when Cassiopeia was nearest to her daughter Andromeda. And they both knew what that meant...

During a modest 450 mile jaunt across Kansas, Jon and Betty had a chance to sample exotic local delicacies and, unaware of the effects of these strange foods, were overcome with a powerful sleepiness. Fortunately, along came three rather odd looking fellows who managed to wake them gently. Then all five continued their journey along the yellow brick road....
